Dormer-Technical-Material Data
Dormer Tools categorises all materials to be machined into 9 separate groups, called Application Material Groups (AMG). Groups are then subdivided according to hardness, tensile strength and chip form. Each product is then tested for suitability for machining in each of these sub-groups. A matrix chart is prepared for each product against the AMG table showing a black square against each sub-group for which the product will give excellent machining results and a red circle where the machining results will be good. These charts are an aid to choosing the right tool for the job. Our CD Product Selector will give more detailed choices and comprehensive information on speeds, feeds costs per operation etc.
